Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh minister Sanjay Nishad was dealt a mighty scare on Thursday when his vehicle met with an accident on the Fatehabad Road while he was travelling to Agra. The incident led to panic among the minister’s convoy, but there were no injuries.
Nishad was unhurt, but was left shaken due to the incident.
"A dog suddenly came in front of the vehicle. As soon as the brakes were applied to save the dog, another car hit us from behind," the Nishad Party chief told the media after the accident.
The minister added that the incident damaged the rear side of the vehicle.
The rear portion of the minister’s vehicle was damaged in the accident when another car it from behind after his driver was forced to apply the brakes suddenly. Nishad was accompanied by Agra resident Ajay Raj, who was earlier honoured by the president for bravery, when the accident took place.
A similar incident involving Nishad had taken place just months earlier, in September 2025. That incident also saw the minister escaping unhurt after his vehicle hit a cow on the Fefna-Rasra road in Ballia. The local police had informed the media that the accident took place around 3 pm near Ramnagar village when Nishad was travelling from the Ballia district headquarters to attend a party programme in Rasra.
The left side of the minister’s vehicle was damaged in the accident. Three others were present in the vehicle along with Nishad when the accident took place. All of them escaped unharmed.
Another similar incident had taken place in Haryana in December 2025 when BJP leader and state minister Anil Vij narrowly escaped injury. A black had ploughed into the BJP leader’s convoy and rammed into his vehicle in Ambala.
The minister escaped unhurt in the incident, which triggered an immediate response from security personnel. Officials informed the media that the incident occurred in the Padav police station area of Ambala when Vij's convoy was travelling from the Maharaja Dhaba side of the highway.
A black-coloured car suddenly breached the convoy and hit the minister's vehicle, prompting security personnel to swiftly surround the errant vehicle and take the driver into custody.
