Two Killed After Speeding Bike Crashes Into Flyover Wall In Delhi

New Delhi: Two friends were returning home from a party in Delhi on Sunday night. On the way, the bike collided with the wall on Mukundpur flyover and both lost their lives. They were only 20 years old. They left the house laughing and playing but did not return.

Where and when did the accident happen?

It was around 9 o'clock at night. Both friends were passing near Majlis Park metro station. The bike was running on the loop road going from Ring Road to Wazirabad. It was Yamaha R15, modified, and the speed was so high that there was no chance to control. Suddenly the bike hit the wall of the flyover and everything was over in a moment.

What happened after the collision?

The collision was so terrible that the biker along with his bike fell from the flyover into the drain below. The friend sitting behind fell on the flyover itself. Pedestrians passing by picked up the boy behind and immediately took him to the hospital but the doctors declared him dead. 

Who were the two boys?

The bike rider was a resident of Burari. The family told that earlier he used to work at a shop but was unemployed for some time. Lived with parents and three siblings. He had bought this bike four-five years ago. The family also told that a similar accident had happened to him on a flyover about a year ago, yet he did not learn a lesson. The friend sitting behind was Bawana's and worked as a laborer in a factory. His friend said that we still cannot believe it, we had left the party together, we had not thought that this was the last time we would see him. He left behind his mother and two brothers.

What action did the police take?

DCP North Hareshwar Swami said that police reached the spot on the call of passersby. A white bike was found near the drain. The medico-legal report of the hospital revealed that both of them were drunk. However, the friend of the boy sitting behind denied this. Police have registered a case under Section 281 of the Indian Justice Code i.e. rash driving and Section 106 i.e. causing death by negligence. No eyewitnesses were found and there is no suspicion of any conspiracy.
