New Delhi: People got a big shock on Friday morning when petrol and diesel became expensive across the country. There has been talk of price increase for the past several days, but now its impact has started falling directly on people's pockets. It is being said that due to the ongoing tension and war in West Asia, the oil supply has been affected. For this reason, the prices of petrol and diesel have now been increased.

What are the new rates in Delhi now?

After the implementation of new prices, petrol in Delhi has become costlier by about Rs 3. Now normal petrol is being sold at around Rs 97.91 per litre. Whereas the price of premium petrol has reached between Rs 105 to Rs 107 per liter. Diesel has also become expensive and its price has reached around Rs 90.78 per liter.

What reason did the oil companies give?

Nischal Singhania, former president of Delhi Petrol Dealers Association, said that the prices of crude oil are continuously increasing in the international market, due to which the prices of fuel have to be increased. He said that the weakness of the rupee against the dollar has also put additional pressure on the oil companies. According to him, petrol pump operators were informed about the new prices through e-mail late at night, after which the new rates were implemented from 6 am on Friday.

Who will be affected the most?

The impact of this increase will be greatest on those people who travel long distances by car every day. The cost of people related to taxi, auto and transport will increase. Its impact can also be seen on small businessmen and traders carrying goods. It is believed that due to cost of transport, the prices of many everyday items may also increase in the coming days.

Can prices increase further?

At present, everyone's eyes are fixed on the international market. If crude oil prices continue to rise like this, then petrol and diesel may become expensive again in the coming days. In such a situation, the concern of common people has also increased, because inflation has already spoiled the household budget.
