Meerut, Agra, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Kanpur, and surrounding areas are expected to experience rain accompanied by strong winds. The risk of hailstorms and lightning has also been predicted in several areas, which is a concern, especially for rural areas. However, this rain will bring down temperatures and provide relief from the scorching heat.
According to IMD, thunderstorm and rain is expected in Sikar, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Barmer, and surrounding areas. Due to the activation of a western disturbance, the weather will remain unstable for the next few days. Many areas may experience dust storms and light rain, which could impact visibility. Temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, providing some relief from the heat.
The IMD has issued a rain and thunderstorm alert for several districts in Punjab. Rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in areas like Amritsar, Ludhiana, Mohali, Bathinda and Patiala. Wind speeds can reach 50 to 60 kilometers per hour, potentially damaging crops and trees. Furthermore, lightning and strong winds could disrupt power supply. However, a drop in temperatures will bring relief from the heat, and the weather will remain pleasant for a few days.
