Patna: The cabinet expansion of Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary is going to take place on Thursday at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, about a month after the formation of the government led by Samrat Choudhary. This ceremony is being considered special in many ways, because for the first time only ministers will be collectively sworn in at Gandhi Maidan. Earlier, oath taking ceremonies have been organized here with the chief minister, but this time the focus will be only on cabinet expansion.
Following the formation of Samrat Choudhary's new government in Bihar, the cabinet expansion will take place on Thursday. After about more than half a month, the formation of Samrat Choudhary's government, a grand cabinet expansion ceremony will be held at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
According to BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, former BJP chief and Union Minister JP Nadda, former Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Union Ministers Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi and many senior BJP leaders will attend the function.
Chief ministers from various states and Union ministers will also attend this event. Tight security arrangements are being made in view of the VVIP presence.
About 27 ministers will be sworn-in on Thursday, representing the five NDA allies, the BJP, JD (U), LJP, HAM (Hindustan Awam Morcha) and the RLM (Rashtriya Lok Morcha).
Based on the number of legislative assembly members, the state can have a cabinet of 36 members, including the chief minister. Currently, the cabinet includes Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Along with him, JDU's Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers.
In this way, 33 MLAs can be made ministers, but after Thursday's expansion, the maximum number of cabinet members can reach 30.
Twelve members from the BJP, 11 from the JDU, two from the LJP (R) and one each from the Hindustani Awam Morcha and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha are likely to take oath as ministers on Thursday.
