Kolkata: Just before the results of West Bengal Assembly elections, political temperature has risen. Making serious allegations, Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said worrying reports are coming from many places: electricity is being deliberately cut, CCTVs are being switched off and movement of suspicious vehicles has been seen near the strong room.
Taking the name clearly, Mamata Banerjee said that such incidents have been reported from Serampur in Hooghly, Krishnanagar in Nadia, Ausgram in Bardhaman and some centers in Kolkata. According to her, this is not a mere coincidence but a well-planned conspiracy.
Mamta asked her workers to stay awake throughout the night and keep an eye on the counting centers and strong rooms. She said, “If you notice any irregularity, immediately file a complaint and demand to show CCTV footage.” The TMC chief alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party was behind all these incidents. However, till now no official response has come from BJP.

77 counting centers have been set up for 293 seats in the state. This time, special arrangements have been made for security. About 200 companies of central forces are deployed, the state police is also alert and CCTV cameras have been installed outside all the centres.
This time the voting percentage was 92.47%, which is considered historically high. Whereas the election on Falta seat of South 24 Parganas has been canceled after complaints of irregularities, re-polling will be held on May 21.
This time the main contest in the field is believed to be between TMC and BJP. CPI(M) and Congress are also trying to strengthen their position, while some smaller parties are trying their luck on select seats.
Even before the counting of votes, the round of allegations and counter-allegations has intensified. Both the big parties have called for caution. Now all eyes are on the results, which will decide in which direction the next turn of Bengal politics will go.
