New Delhi: The counting of election results of four big states of the country—West Bengal, Assam, Kerala and Tamil Nadu—began at 8 am. The trends that have emerged in the first two hours, i.e. till around 10 o'clock, are telling different stories in different states. At some places BJP is leading, while at some places the competition is still tough.

Competition between whom in Bengal?

Initial trends in West Bengal show a close contest between BJP and TMC. Both the parties are giving tough competition to each other on many seats. According to some reports, BJP has taken an early lead  on many seats, making the contest interesting. However, the picture is not completely clear yet and the figures may change as the rounds progress.

Whose position is stronger in Assam?

In the trends that have emerged from Assam, the BJP led NDA seems to be in a strong position. After getting initial lead on many seats, the party once again seems to be moving towards forming the government. The contest here is mainly between BJP and Congress, but initial figures seem to be leaning in favor of NDA.

Who is getting the lead in Kerala?

As always, the contest in Kerala remains interesting. As per the trends till 10 am, Congress led UDF seems to be taking some lead, but LDF is also not lagging behind. There has been a trend of change of power in every election, so it would be too early to say anything till the final results are out.

What is going on in Tamil Nadu?

This time the contest in Tamil Nadu is quite interesting. In the initial trends, the DMK alliance seems to be taking the lead, but AIADMK and other parties are also in the race. Close contests are being seen at some places, which makes it clear that the results here can go till the last round.

What is the big picture being formed by 10 o'clock?

Overall, in the trends till 10 am, BJP looks strong in Bengal and Assam, while the contest looks more balanced in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. However, these are just initial trends. As the counting progresses, the picture may change and the actual results will decide whose government will be formed in which state.
