The Punjab government organised its first Startup Punjab Conclave at Lovely Professional University in Kapurthala to give a strong platform to young entrepreneurs and showcase the growing startup ecosystem of the state to investors industry leaders and innovators from across India.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann told the youth that Punjab needs job creators not job seekers and said young people must dream big work hard and use innovation to build their own future instead of waiting for government jobs.
More than one hundred startups from different parts of Punjab participated in the event and displayed their ideas products and services which showed that the state is fast becoming a strong hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Punjab government distributed special seed grants and incentives to eight startups including seven receiving three lakh rupees each and one startup getting lease rental assistance which shows the government’s financial backing for new ideas.
CM Mann introduced Update and Create as the new slogan for Punjab’s youth meaning that young people must keep learning adopt new technology and keep creating new solutions to succeed in today’s fast changing world.
The Chief Minister said startups will create jobs boost the economy and solve problems in areas like agriculture health education and governance which will help Punjab move towards a modern and self reliant economy.
The conclave showed that Punjab wants to become a top destination for innovation driven businesses with strong infrastructure policy support and a talented youth force and invited investors to partner in this new growth journey.
