Bhopal: Politics has heated up after the defeat of the Women's Reservation (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha. BJP leaders have accused the Congress and other opposition parties of engaging in "dirty politics," saying that by opposing the bill, the opposition has exposed their anti-women stance. In a joint press conference on Sunday, the Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the state BJP will hold an "Akrosh rally in the capital on Monday to show women's outrage against the opposition parties

What did the Chief Minister say?

On Sunday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, state BJP president Hemant Khandelwal, and BJP national vice-president Rekha Verma addressed a joint press conference and launched a scathing attack on the opposition, stating that by not supporting the Women's Reservation Bill in Parliament, Congress has harmed women's rights.

"Congress and opposition parties have opposed not a bill but the empowerment and rights of women. A Congress leader, who claims, Ladki hoon, ladh sakti hoon, has also insulted the nation's women by vehemently opposing women's reservation," the chief minister said.

The leaders said that by opposing the bill, the opposition has exposed their "true face". They alleged that Congress has ignored women's interests and engaged in "dirty politics" for political gain.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has clearly stated that he will not rest until women are granted their rights," he said.

The BJP has announced that an 'Akrosh Rally' will be held in Bhopal on Monday, to protest this opposition's stance.

What did Mohan Yadav say about Rahul Gandhi?

At the press conference, the leaders also targeted Rahul Gandhi, saying that his stance clearly exposes the party's anti-women stance. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav criticized Priyanka Gandhi, saying that it was unfortunate to oppose a bill related to women's rights.

"The defeat of the reservation bill has exposed the true face of the opposition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the Reservation Bill to empower women. The people and women of this country will surely teach a lesson to political parties that opposed women's rights," Hemant Khandelwal said.

What did Mohan Yadav say about the state?

Mohan Yadav also informed that local bodies in Madhya Pradesh will once again pass resolutions in support of the Women's Reservation Bill.

Citing women empowerment in the state, the Chief Minister said that "In Madhya Pradesh, 17 districts have women collectors, and more than 10 districts have women SPs. In one district-- the collector, SP and other officers are all women. The BJP will inform the people across the state about who prevented women from achieving their rights. A special session of the Legislative Assembly will be convened in Madhya Pradesh regarding this issue."
