New Delhi: There is a clash between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Arun Jaitley Stadium this evening. The match will start at seven o'clock, but before that the traffic police have made strict arrangements in the entire area. If you have to pass through this area today then definitely read this first.
Diversions will be imposed on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and Jawaharlal Nehru Marg as per need. Entry of heavy and commercial vehicles will be completely closed from Daryaganj to Guru Nanak Chowk and Asaf Ali Road.
Movement will be limited on parts of JLN Marg (Rajghat to Delhi Gate), Asaf Ali Road (Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate) and Bahadurshah Zafar Marg. There will be no parking on these roads and vehicles breaking the rules will be removed immediately.
Stay away from these areas between 5 pm and 12 midnight. During this time, there will be a huge crowd of spectators towards the stadium and traffic jam is certain.
Entry will be given from gate numbers 1 to 8 from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, 10 to 15 from JLN Marg and 16 to 18 from western direction.
There will be no parking for general spectators near the stadium. Only vehicles with valid parking labels will get space at designated locations like JP Park and Vikram Nagar.
Park-and-ride service has been started to reduce crowding. Buses will run from Mata Sundari Road, Velodrome Road, Shanti Van and Rajghat which will start two hours before the match and will continue till one hour after the end.
For app-based taxis, pickup and drop points have been fixed near Maulana Azad Medical College, around Rajghat Chowk and ITO flyover.
Overall plan your route in advance, take alternative routes and use the metro if possible. The match will be enjoyed only when you reach there without getting stuck in traffic jam.
