New Delhi: For the last several days, people in large parts of North India have been facing severe heat and heat waves. But now news of relief has come to light. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather patterns may change in the coming days. IMD says that there may be a drop in temperature in many states, which will provide some relief to the people.
The biggest reason for this change is it being considered a western disturbance. This system is active over Pakistan and is slowly moving towards north-west India. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of light rain, dust storm and strong winds for the next few days. It is estimated that this may cause the temperature to drop by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.
Signs of change started appearing in Delhi and surrounding areas from Monday evening itself. The Meteorological Department has issued a special alert for this place. The sky is likely to remain cloudy for the next three days from Tuesday. There may also be light rain or drizzle along with thunderstorms, which can provide relief from the scorching heat.
According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 60 km/hr during this period. Due to dust storm, visibility on the roads may be reduced, due to which drivers will need to be careful. Also, it has been advised to avoid standing near old trees, electric poles and weak hoardings.
Although there are signs of change in the weather, it will take time for the temperature to become completely normal. The mercury may still remain around 40°C in Delhi-NCR. This means that the effect of heat wave will definitely reduce a little, but the heat will not go away completely.
The effect of extreme heat still persists in states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. At some places the temperature has reached above 45°C. At the same time, higher than normal heat is being recorded in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Hot and humid weather is also troubling people in South Indian states like Odisha, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
According to weather experts, along with western disturbance, the cyclonic circulation over Pakistan and Rajasthan is also playing an important role in this change. Due to this, humidity is increasing and the weather is becoming unstable, creating conditions of rain and storm.
People need to be cautious in such weather –
With a little care and vigilance this season can be easily overcome.
