New Delhi: The National Testing Agency has issued important guidelines for the candidates before the NEET UG 2026 exam. These rules are especially related to dress code, things to be carried at the examination center and prohibited items so that the examination can be conducted in a fair manner without any irregularities.

What are the rules regarding dress code?

NTA has made it clear that candidates will have to wear light and simple clothes on the day of the examination. It is advised to avoid wearing heavy clothes, designer outfits or clothes with much decoration.

  • It's better to wear half sleeves or simple clothes
  • No shoes, only slippers or sandals allowed
  • Clothes with big buttons, zips or heavy designs are prohibited.
  • Ban on wearing things like jewellery, watch, belt etc.

The purpose of these rules is to simplify security checks.

Is religious attire allowed?

If a candidate wears special attire (like hijab, kada etc.) for religious reasons, he/she will have to inform in advance. Also, such candidates will be required to reach the examination center well in time for testing, otherwise their entry may be stopped.

What is necessary to take to the examination center?

Candidates will have to bring some important documents:

admit card
valid identity card
passport size photo
transparent water bottle

Without these you will not be allowed to appear in the examination.

What things are completely banned?

NTA has strictly banned many things:

  • Mobile Phone, smartwatch, Calculator
  • Electronic gadgets
  • Bag, notes or any study material
  • Heavy jewelry or metal items

Violation of these rules may also result in the candidate being thrown out of the examination.

Will the security arrangements also be strict?

This time strict security arrangements have been made in the examination. Steps like frisking and biometric verification will be taken at the time of entry so that any kind of irregularities or copying can be prevented.

Overall, these guidelines issued for NEET UG 2026 are for the students to be prepared in advance and avoid any mistakes. Even small mistakes can cause problems on the day of examination, hence it is important to follow all the rules.
