Styled by celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania, this custom, handcrafted "bandage" dress beautifully fuses traditional Indian aesthetics with modern vibes. It also serves as a tribute to this year's Met Gala theme: "Costume Art."

Crafted by Swadesh artisans over a period of more than 450 hours, this outfit is composed of 26 distinct borders, each representing a different region of India. It features a blend of techniques such as *Zari* work from Uttar Pradesh, Parsi *Gara* embroidery, Maheshwari weaving, *Karchobi*, *Aari Bharat*, *Tilla*, *Kantha*, Kanjeevaram silk, Paithani, and Banarasi brocade—drawing inspiration from the North, South, East, and West to create a rich tapestry. Each border possesses its own unique history, and together, they offer a glimpse into the confluence of culture, craftsmanship, and modernity.

When Will The Met Gala be held?

The 78th Met Gala will take place on Monday, May 4th, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The Met Gala 2026 red carpet will be live-streamed starting at 6:00 PM on Monday, May 4. However, in India, the Met Gala can be watched on Tuesday, May 5, at 3:30 AM (Indian Standard Time).
