Patna: Amid the ongoing uproar in Bihar politics, the state is likely to get a new chief minister on April 14. As per reports, Nitish Kumar is likely to move to Rajya Sabha on April 10. Talking about the same, Bihar minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, a close aide of the chief minister, speaking to reporters in Patna, said Nitish Kumar will leave for New Delhi on Thursday. "After having been elected to the Rajya Sabha, the chief minister is now scheduled to take oath as a member of the Upper House in Parliament. He will be leaving (for Delhi) tomorrow and will be sworn in the day after," the JD(U) leader told PTI.
He further said, “The rest of the things will follow after that as per the laid down process... Khadmas will also end. Kumar will do what he has decided and what is the Constitutional requirement.”
Meanwhile, Janata Dal (United) or JD(U) working president Sanjay Kumar Jha said, “Generally, people avoid important work in the Khadmas period. After he returns, the transition process will start from April 14.”
Earlier, Bihar Minister Ramkripal Yadav talking about the same said, “Since the Hon’ble Chief Minister (Nitish Kumar) has been elected as a Rajya Sabha member, he will have to take oath within the stipulated time. After that, in due course, he will assign responsibilities to someone. This is a normal process that everyone has to follow. He will do so, and Bihar will get good leadership; under his guidance, someone will take charge and become Chief Minister.”
It is said that the new government is expected to include new faces like Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar.
