On this day, married women observe a waterless fast, praying for their husbands' long life, good health, and a happy married life. They break their fast after ritually worshipping the Vat Vriksha (banyan tree).
The best time for worship on Vat Savitri Vrat is from 7:12 am to 8:24 am. Puja is also performed during the Abhijit Muhurta, which is from 11:50 am to 12:45 pm.
This year, the Vat Savitri fast, along with Shani Jayanti, is creating Saubhagya Yog and Shobhan Yoga. Furthermore, the planetary positions are creating Raja Yog like Budhaditya, Navapancham, Gajalakshmi, and Vipreet Raja Yog.
The banyan tree is considered extremely sacred and divine in Hinduism. It is believed that Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, and Goddess Savitri reside within this tree. This tree is long-lived, and therefore considered a symbol of longevity, stability, and strength.
Along with its religious significance, this tree is also given special importance from the perspective of environmental protection.
